The days covered at the meetings will be as follows: Cheltenham - All 4 days; Aintree - All 3 days; Ascot - First 4 days; York - All 4 days. 2. The points scored will be based on Tote Dividends with the winner getting Win and Place points and placed horses, the placed dividends. (so a £6.50 win dividend will score 6.5 points, etc.) 3. Entry Fees are unchanged, namely £15 for all 4 rounds, or £12. for the last 3 , £9 for last 2 or £5. per round. RULES OF THE ALEX BIRD COMPETITION. The Competition is over four rounds incorporating the Cheltenham Festival, Aintree, Royal Ascot and York Ebor Meeting. 1. One selection is made in each relevant race for the appropriate day of the meeting. Selections must be for either a named horse or a specific trainer's entry, but you can also nominate 'The Favourite' in races. 2. Points will be scored on the basis of Tote Dividends, with the winner receiving win and place points and placed horses getting the place dividends. 3. Non runner, the selection transfers onto the favourite. In the event of joint favourites, the selection is the lowest Race Card number. 4. Entries may include a second selection which will apply if the original choice is a non-runner, otherwise "on the favourite" will operate. 5. Entry fee is £5.00 per round or £15 for all four rounds, or £12 for the last three rounds . 6. Multiple entries are acceptable, but each entry must be accompanied by the appropriate fee. The entries must be numbered. For example, entry 2 in round 1 will be coupled with entry 2 in future rounds. 7. The winner of each round will be the person with the highest points total. In the event of a tie, the prize money goes to the entry with the most winning selections. The winner of each round will receive 75% of the total entry fees for that round, with the balance* being set aside for the overall winner. However a minimum round prize of £100 will apply before any surplus added to the annual prize. 8. The winner of the Alex Bird Trophy will be the entrant with the highest aggregate total over the 4 rounds. The Champion Tipster will hold the trophy for a year. 9. Scores for each round and overall positions will be updated in RACIN' and on the Club Website. 10. All e mail / text / phone entries must be received before the time of the first race of the day at the meeting covered. For postal entries the postmark must be before the time of the first race. 11.
