The aim of this web page is to highlight trainers who have won races at least 3 times in the last 10 years. 
Saturday Feb 4th Sandown - 2m 'Contenders' Hurdle : N Henderson won in 2008, 2010 & 2011. All had finished 4th or better on their last run and were well backed at odds of 2/1 or shorter. In 2010 Binocular went on to win the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham after winning this race. Saturday Feb 4th Sandown - Gr1 Novice Chase over 2m4f: P Nicholls won in 2006. 2007, 2008 & 2009. All had finished 3rd or better on last run (within 34-44 days) and were well backed at odds of 3/1 or shorter with three of the four starting as favourites. All also aged between 5 and 7 years old. Saturday Feb 4th Sandown - 2m6f Handicap Hurdle: P Nicholls won in 2007, 2008 & 2010. All were placed 4th or better on last start (within 56-63 days) and were aged between 6-8 years. All also carried 10st 9lbs or lower in the handicap. Sunday Feb 5th Fontwell - 2m2f Juvenile Novice Hurdle for 4yo: GL Moore won in 2004, 2010 & 2011. All were well backed at odds of 4/1 or shorter and all had run only once/twice in current season with latest run some 15-40 days earlier. Sunday Feb 5th Punchestown - 3m Cross Country Chase: E Bolger won in 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2011. All last ran 25-51 days earlier (finishing no better than 2nd) and were aged between 9-12 years old. Three of the four were sent off as favourites with all having odds of 7/1 or shorter. Sucessful jockeys were either Mr J McNamara or Ms N Carberry. This is a key Cheltenham trial for the equivalent cross country race with the winners record at Cheltenham over the last 6 years reading 111242. Thursday Feb 10th Taunton - 2m1f Maiden Hurdle : P Nicholls won in 2005, 2008 & 2011. Each of the winners had run once before under NH rules finishing 5th or better. (in last 5-26 days) All were well backed at odds of 5/1 or shorter although only one went off as favourite. Saturday Feb 12th Newbury - 3m Aon Chase Gr 2: P Nicholls has won in 2003, 2007, 2008 and 2010. Of these 4 winners the two shortest priced winners (odds 1-4 or shorter) went on to win the Gold Cup at Cheltenham in the same season. Of the four none had finished worse than 4th in any of their last six completed races. All were aged between 7-10 years with just half of them going off as favourite. Saturday Feb 12th Newbury - 2m1f Game Spirit Chase Gr 2: P Nicholls has won in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2010. Of these 5 winners two have gone on to win the Queen Mother Chase at Cheltenham in the same season. Also none had finished worse than third place in any of their last six completed races. All were aged between 5-8 years and had been rested at least 35 days since their last race. Only two went off as favourite although all odds were 4/1 or shorter. Saturday Feb 12th Newbury - 2m Novice Hurdle: P Nicholls has won in 2004, 2008 & 2011. All had won at least one of their last two races and were well backed at 4/1 or shorter although only one started as favourite. Saturday Feb 12th Newbury - 3m Novice Chase: P Nicholls won in 2007, 2008 & 2011. All three had finished either 1st/2nd in all races in current season. All were well backed at odds of 7/2 or shorter with two starting as favourites. Sunday Feb 6th Leopardstown (Ire) - 2m2f Novice Hurdle Gr1: N Meade won in 2006, 2007 & 2009. All had won three races in current season and finished 1st/2nd on last run (within 47-62 days). 2/3 went off as favourite with all having odds of 6/4 or shorter and all were ridden by P Carberry. Sunday Feb 6th Leopardstown (Ire) - 2m5f Novice Chase Gr1: W Mullins won in 2008, 2009 & 2010. All were aged between 5-7 years and had won at least once in current season finishing 3rd or better on last run (within 17-51 days). Sunday Feb 6th Leopardstown (Ire) - 3m Chase (Hennessy Gold Cup) Gr1: There are two trainers with excellent records in this race. W Mullins has the slightly better record winning in 2002, 2004 and 2005 & 2011. Florida Pearl was a standing dish in this race winning four times in all (once during period covered) with all winners finishing 3rd or better on last completed start (within 21-46 days). Notwithstanding the trainers excellent record in the race the last 4 winners were easy to back at odds of up to 11/2. M Hourigan won the race in 2003, 2006 & 2007 with Beef Or Salmon winning all three times for the trainer. Always well backed at odds of 11/4 or shorter the horse had always finished 1st/2nd in all of its prep races and had been rested between 43-46 days since last race. Sunday Feb 6th Leopardstown (Ire) - 2m2f (Mares) Handicap Hurdle : P Nolan won in 2005, 2009 & 2011. Although all ran fairly poorly in last race (4th or worse) in their penultimate start all finished either 1st/2nd. Weights carried varied between 10st 9lbs & 11st 5lbs. This race tends to attract a large field and with odds of the stable's winners being between 4/1 and 12/1 their was generally a degree of market support. Sunday Feb 13th Navan (Ire) - 2m Handicap Hurdle: AL Moore won in 3 consecutive years from 2008-10. All had finished 3rd/4th in last race some 25-47 days earlier. Sunday Feb 13th Navan (Ire) - Gr 2 Novice Chase over 2m: WP Mullins won in 2007, 2008 & 2010. All had won their last race 21-24 days earlier and were well backed at odds of 3/1 or shorter. Jockey R Walsh also rode all of the winners. Sunday Feb 13th Navan (Ire) - 2m Maiden Hurdle: N Meade won in 2002, 2004 & 2005. All winners were partnered by P Carberry and were well backed at odds of 5/2 or shorter. Monday Feb 14th Plumpton - 3m2f Novice Chase: Venetia Williams won in 2006, 2007 and 2010. All had finished either 1st/2nd on one of last two completed runs and were well backed at odds of 5/2 or shorter with two of the three starting as favourite. A last run some 11-47 days earlier was also a common feature. Monday Feb 14th Plumpton - 2m1f Beginners Chase: N Henderson won in 2005, 2009 and 2010. All were 7yo horses which had finished either 1st/2nd on their last completed race and were backed as favourites in the race. Another common feature was that all were rested at least 43 days since their last run. Friday Feb 18th Sandown - 3m Chase (Royal Artillery Gold Cup): P Nicholls won in 2003, 2005, 2006 & 2008. All had finished 4th or better on at least one of last two races. Ages of winners between 9-11 years with all having SP's of 7/2 or shorter. Saturday Feb 19th Ascot - 2m NH Flat Race: N Henderson won in 2004, 2008, 2010 & 2011. All were aged 4/5 years and were either unraced or had run just once. Longest SP seen was 8/1. Saturday Feb 19th Fairyhouse (Ire) - 3m 1f Chase (Gr2): Two trainers have won the race at least 3 times in the last 10 years- they are: DT Hughes won in 2002, 2009 & 2010. All had won at least one of last three races. They were all reasonably backed with odds between 11/4 and 4/1. Also all had been rested between 20-34 days since last run. WP Mullins won in 2005, 2007 & 2011. All carried a weight between 11st 3lbs & 11st 5lbs and were well backed at 9/2 or shorter. The 2005 winner, Hedgehunter went on to win the Aintree Grand National in the same year. Saturday Feb 19th Fairyhouse (Ire) - 2m NH Flat Race: WP Mullins won in 2003, 2007, 2010 & 2011. All were sent off as favourites and the last three stable winners were making their racecourse debuts. Saturday Feb 19th Haydock - 3m1f Handicap Hurdle: J O'Neill won in 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2009. All past winners were aged between 6-8 years and had finished 1st/2nd on at least one of last three runs. All were rested at least 16 days since last run. None of the stable's winners carried more than 10st 13lbs. Saturday Feb 20th Wincanton - 2m Novice Hurdle: P Nicholls won in 2005, 2006 & 2009. All started as favourites in the race having finished 1st/2nd on at least one of last two starts. Also all last ran some 53-57 days earlier. Saturday Feb 20th Wincanton - 2m6f Handicap Hurdle: P Nicholls won in 2002, 2005 & 2007. All had won at least once on last three starts and were aged between 5-7 years. Whilst only one backed down to favouritism all were well supported at odds of 8/1 or shorter. They all carried weights between 10st 11lbs and 11st . Feb 21st Naas (Ire) - 2m Chase (Gr2): N Meade won in 2003, 2004 & 2006. All three had finished 1st/2nd on at least one of last two starts. All were ridden by P Carberry. Tuesday Feb 22nd Taunton - 2m 1f Novice Hurdle: P Nicholls has won all 3 previous runnings of this race. All were well backed, two starting as favourite, with odds of 9/4 or shorter. Wednesday Feb 23rd Ludlow - 2m Maiden Hurdle: N Henderson won in 2002, 2009 & 2010. All went off as well backed favourites after finishing 2nd on last outing (some 20-34 days earlier). Thursday Feb 24th Ayr - 3m 1f Handicap Chase: Mrs S Bradburne won the race for three consecutive years (2007-9) with Almire Du Lia. Saturday Feb 26th Kempton - 2m 'Adonis' Gr 2 Novice Hurdle (4yo): N Henderson won in 2007, 2008 and 2010. All had won their only start under NH rules and were well supported at odds of 9/2 or shorter. Saturday Feb 26th Kempton - 2m4f 'Pendil' Gr 2 Novice Chase: There are two trainers to note in this race. Ms V Williams won in 2001, 2001 & 2004. All had been placed 1st/2nd on last start (13-21 days earlier). However the last 5 races (2006-2010) were all won by P Nicholls. 3/5 started as favourites with all SP's 11/2 or shorter. All had won at least one of last two races, having been rested at least 21 days. Saturday Feb 26th Kempton - Gr3 'Racing Post Trophy' - 3m Handicap Chase: P Hobbs won in 2002, 2005 & 2011. Each of the winners finished no worse than 4th on any of its last 3 completed races. All were ridden by stable jockey R Johnson. In the betting all were fairly well backed at odds of 5/1 to 8/1. Saturday Feb 26th Newcastle - 2m 4f Handicap Chase: Mrs SJ Smith won in 2007, 2009 & 2011. All were carrying a weight of 11st 7lbs or more and had been rested between 21-28 days before this race. In the betting all were fairly easy to back at odds ranging from 13/2 to 8/1. Sunday Feb 27th Fontwell - 3m2f Hunter Chase : P Nicholls won in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2008 & 2009. Four of the five winners were favourites and all backed at odds of 2/1 or shorter. All had finished 1st/2nd on last completed race.
